EXPANSION TANK PLATFORM

SHARE PROJECT

The EXPANSION TANK PLATFORM project is a specialized platform designed to accommodate a 2000-liter tank. This unique project requires modifications to the original customer design due to the current bracing system interfering with the pipeline. To meet this requirement, we have designed and implemented a new bracing system, ensuring no obstruction and complete compatibility with other elements at the site.

Objectives and Requirements

  • Modify the original design: Adjust the current bracing system to avoid interfering with the piping system.
  • 3D design and clash detection: Use 3D modeling and BIM to detect and resolve any clashes with other components on site.
  • Quick production drawing: Ensure that all production drawings are completed as quickly as possible due to the urgent site requirements.
  • Completion time: The project must be completed within 2 days.

Tools and Methods Used

  • Tekla Software: We used Tekla software to design, simulate, and check the 3D model of the platform. Tekla is a powerful tool that optimizes the design process and ensures high accuracy in technical drawings.
  • BIM (Building Information Modeling): To ensure the platform does not conflict with other onsite elements, we used BIM to check and confirm the feasibility of the new design.

Implementation Process

  1. Site survey: First, the project team conducted a site survey to identify the specific issues caused by the old bracing system.
  2. Design and modeling: Based on the survey data, we proceeded with designing and modeling the new bracing system using Tekla.
  3. Clash detection: Using BIM, we checked for clashes between the new platform system and other components.
  4. Production drawings: After confirming the design was clash-free, we quickly produced the production drawings.
  5. Completion and handover: The entire process, from design to drawing, was completed within 2 days, ensuring the project met the urgent timeline required by the site.
